New Hope for a Troubled World
We who comprise the remnant church understand the clarion call to
faithfulness in these last days. The call is one to righteousness to truth
and to a belief in The True and Living God amid lawlessness and chaos.
While we know that the wheat and the tares must grow together until the
harvest, those of us who believe, assemble each Sabbath in Melrose Park
which is a subdivision of Ft. Lauderdale to summons everyone who is looking
for something unique and something special. The Great I AM has given a
challenge to us to “Go ye therefore, and teach all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have
commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world”
Matthew 28:19 - 20.
It has become abundantly clear that leaders in our world have chosen to
ignore clear Biblical truths. The principles of uprightness challenge us to
represent the virtues of Jehovah and to reach the destitute and the
afflicted and to soothe the hearts of the troubled and to expound on the
message of hope and peace in the confusion and commotion of a world without
God.
Rising from this call, our church finds a genesis for our name. Our Elder
Brother John declares in Revelation 21:1 - 2, 1And
I saw a new heaven and a
new earth.... 2And I John saw
the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from
God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Thus we the members of New Hope are looking for what John saw, we are
looking for a New Heaven and a New Earth and the New Jerusalem. We are tired
of the same old issues of life that depress us with the frustrations and the
uncertainties that this present world brings. Jesus has promised us so much
more and so our church is established on not old ways but NEW HOPE.
We have read in the word about the newness of God:
Lamentations 3:22 - 23
22It is of the LORD’S mercies that we
are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23They are new
every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Psalms 98:1
1O sing unto the LORD a
new song; for he hath done marvellous things:
his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
Therefore it is from the scripture that we establish our hope:
Titus 1:2
2In hope
of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world
began;
I Timothy 1:1
1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by
the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our
hope;
I Titus 2:13
13Looking for that blessed
hope, and the glorious appearing of the great
God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
I John 3:3
3And every man that hath this
hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is
pure.
Thus the name of our church is New Hope. It is a name that challenges us to
deliver the same old message which is the everlasting Gospel, but the
relevancy of the message and the freshness of the mission and the vastness
and magnitude of our scope is to reach the entire world with a message that
is new in urgency and will bring hope to those who do not understand the
mercy and the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So we welcome you
one and all to experience the New Hope of our church so that when you depart
from our walls may you feed the desire that will burn within your heart to
yearn with us for that New Hope.
Sincerely,
Elder Jonathan E. McCottry, Sr.
